DoD’s SASE Model to Benefit State and Local Governments
The Thunderdome prototype is a Zero Trust security model that leverages commercial technologies. As part of that pilot project, the Defense Information Systems Agency will develop a Secure Access Service Edge solution for Department of Defense workloads – both in the cloud and at on-premises data centers. Thunderdome’s potential extends far beyond DoD. State and local governments can leverage its SASE model to defend against malware and ransomware, to deploy cloud-based security to specific populations, and to provide efficient access to a variety of users.
