Yesterday, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) posted a job opening for a Chief Technology Officer.
In this role they will work with USCIS Officer of Technology (OIT) to design, develop and deploy the IT services and solutions for the nation’s immigration system. This includes:
1. Definining and coordination on technology policies, strategies, and programs. Applying a broad understanding of cutting-edge technologies and approaches to meet mission requirements.
2. Managing software, infrastructure, security, data systems, and communications technology.
3. Participating in high-level USCIS, DHS, and intergovernmental meetings and exercises, providing professional, authoritative advice and direction on all technical elements of system development, infrastructure, and communications.
4. Contributing to the planning and budgeting efforts for all IT programs and initiatives, and ensures that appropriate technology is included in strategic plans and budgets.
5. Serving as a technical consultant to the CIO and recommends technical solutions to agency difficulties.
Technical Qualifications (Mandatory)
1. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to oversee and lead the design, implementation, and continuing development of modern, reliable, and secure end-to-end IT services and applications.
2. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and build enterprise consensus and large-scale integration for complex multi-component IT programs that may include multiple enterprises, multi-agency workflows and stakeholders.
3. Demonstrated successes in leading the delivery of enterprise-level, multi-stack information technology solutions to significantly advance agency-level mission activities, delivering modern digital-government, highly innovative solutions, and state-of-the-art products to business customers.
